Annual Fishing Derby
July 21, 2007

It was a beautiful day, I don't think we could of asked for it to be any nicer. The small children went first, and it was just a matter of seconds and the cheers of the first fishing coming out of the dam could be heard.

Some of the smaller kids just wanted to beat the water with their poles, and the parents were more hyper I think then some of the kids. Oh the serious looks on some of the faces.

There were so many children with the little kid poles, Snoopy, batman, and any character you can imgaine. Have you ever wondered? would a childs "character" fishing pole hold up? Take a look at the photo of the 2 little folks who managed to pull in their winning fishes with their "kiddie" rods.

By the end of both events, there were only a hand full of sad faces.

The fate for some of these fish is dinner, Our son wanted to jus put his 17 1/2 inch golden trout... in our 30 gallon tank, even though I knew that was coming and spent the last few days telling him exactly what a fishy would be, supper. Many fishes left in bags, some left in a fancy coolers, bound for longer life in a new home. A little worse for the ware, but spared the grill.

I would like to take the time to make sure I put out my own special thanks to

The Roaring Spring Lions for serving all the kids a hot dog and soda

Historical Society, they gave all the children ice cream

The borough for hosting such a enjoyable event.

THANK YOU!!

With the rising gas costs, you can't pay for a day as nice as was given to us

Thank you one and all that helped make it a great day!
